Happy Thanksgiving!

I almost forgot. For the last two years, we have sent out Thanksgiving cards to family and friends who mean so much to us. We also want to say Happy Thanksgiving to all of our friends who don't live local and who are connected with us through Twitter & Facebook. You also mean a lot to us. I apologize that we almost forgot, yet it is not too late, so...

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

See you in a couple of weeks with the new X-Mas card!

Tyler, Sean, Kristi and Geoff!

Brett & Monica

Photo & Video Sharing by SmugMugOn 11/20/2010, Brett & Monica Sankey were wed at The Palms in Chico, CA. They had planned for their wedding to be outdoors in the peaceful, breathtaking and private venue, however, Mother Nature had different plans so the rain put “Plan B” into action!

With the ceremony having moved into the indoor pavilion, it was standing room only as Monica came down the aisle to Miranda Wong’s “Romantic Wedding March”. For her recessional, Monica chose Jason Mraz’s “Lucky”

As the bridal party was whisked off for photos by Rhoda Fleck, who had great ideas and was awesome to work with, we opened up the photo booth to all the guests. Everyone took great delight to capture fun moments and put their photos in the memory book for Brett & Monica.

When the time came for the Grand Entrance, the Bridal Party entered to The Black Eyed Peas’ “I Gotta Feeling”. Brett & Monica entered to Michael BublĂ©’s “Everything”.

For her first dance, Monica's brother, Jake Cousineau sang and played an acoustic guitar as she and Brett danced. For her dance with her father, Monica chose Heartland's "I Loved Her First". When it was time for the cake, Monica requested “Sugar, Sugar” by The Archie’s and then we lowered the lights for OPEN DANCING! The dance lighting effects were awesome so hats off to Dream Lighting & Sounds!

After everyone was nice and exhausted from dancing for a bit, we did the bouquet and garter toss. From the second floor, Monica tossed the bouquet to the Pat Benatar’s “Hit Me With Your Best Shot” and Brett, threw the garter to ZZ Top’s “Legs”.

For our youngsters who couldn’t join in on the bouquet and garter toss, Monica had requested a Teddy Bear Toss. She met me by the DJ Booth and she tossed a Teddy Bear to the children. For those who didn’t catch the bear, I handed out glow sticks!

We went lights out again and opened the dance floor until the night ended where our bride and groom where taken away by their limo!

Once again…Good times and Good fun!

Kaiser Pernamente Holiday Party

Just a quick post to say many thanks to Kaiser Permanente for inviting us to their Holiday Party at Laughs Unlimited in Old Sacramento. Of course we used a holiday themed card with the “Kaiser Permanente” logo on it. I also put a "glow" effect around the logo to make it a little more festive.

Although we were there for a short time, we got in as many photos as we could between dinner and the comedian, it was still a successful event. I wish we could have stayed longer. Also, never under estimate the power of the prop to help people open up to their fun and wild side!

See you soon Kaiser Permanente!

TOPSoccer!

Just a quick post this time. Our disabled youth soccer league had its final game today and I loved being the coach for the "Tiger Sharks". As treat for all the players and the Soccer Buddies, we gave them unlimited use of the photo booth. For the background of the photo card, I put my photo shop skills to good use and made a soccer field and it came out well!

It was an awesome year and many thanks to the parents for their support along with the buddies for helping the players on the field. See you all next season!

The last month has been busy for us. It has been celebration time for our local schools as with Halloween being around and yearly Harvest Festivals, the photo booth was busy to help raise funds for our schools.

We were happy to be back again at Butte Vista School to raise funds and we made our debut at Barry School and Rescue Elementary School. Good times and good fun!

Black & Marquez Halloween Bash 2010

On October 30th, we provided our DJ and photo booth services for the annual Chris Black and Javi Marquez Halloween Costume Bash. Nary a ghoul or goblin would be caught at this festivity as too much fun was to be had!

Each year the party gets better & better. Chris and his wife, Kathy, went all out with decorations to turn their humble home into a creepy domicile and we were more than willing to assists to help make sure when the time came, we rocked the house for their guests!

As the guests went through the photo booth, we added a voice over so they had a pleasant, yet fitting send off as they waited for their photos.

See you next year Chris & Javi!

Eric & Melodie

10-10-10! What a popular date for a wedding and what an awesome day for Eric and Melodie to be married. Beautiful weather and wonderful family and friends to be around.

We had the most excellent honor of assisting our bride and groom in the planning of the reception but Melodie was absolute when she wanted the photo booth!

The reception was held at the Bonanza Inn where our bridal party entered to a personalized mix of “Let’s Get it Started” by the Black Eyed Peas. Being Oakland Raiders fans, Eric and Melodie had their grand entrance to “Back in Black” by AC-DC, they also designed their photo strip to the colors of the Raiders.

After the buffet dinner, the bride and groom cut their cake to “The Way You Look Tonight” by Rod Stewart.

For their first dance as husband and wife, Eric and Melodie celebrated to “Then” by Brad Paisley. Melodie followed with the traditional “I Loved Her First” by Heartland for the dance with her father. When Eric danced with his mother, he chose “A Song For Mama” by Boyz II Men. Then...open dancing began where the dancing was non-stop. To top the non-stop dancing, the bride and groom led a conga line of guests through the dining area, out to the main hallway to parts unknown and back to the tune of “C'mon Ride the Train” by the Quad City DJ’s!

Too much fun was going on we almost forgot about the bouquet and garter. But never the less, we accomplished these tasks with fun and vigor. Melodie was so ready to go, she threw the bouquet before I got to countdown or play the song! (“Single Ladies” by Beyonce).

Eric, on the other hand, took the garter off with football style. As soon as the NFL Football Theme kicked in for the removal, he took the garter off with grace and ease from his lady fair dainty’s leg.

Then with stern and command presence, he assembled all the single men to the dance floor. Eric took the garter, wrapped it around a football and with shotgun formation precision, threw it to the awaiting men, where one person caught it to claim victory above all others!

What a great evening we had! Good time, good friends, great music and good photo booth fun!

Emma & Rei

On Saturday, we had a wonderful time at Emma & Rei’s wedding. They chose a beautiful venue which was The General’s Garden at McClellan AFB, plus and I got to work with Tony G Photography who I have worked with before and does awesome work.

Photo courtesy of Tony G PhotographyI had wonderful time planning the reception with them from the individual bridal party announcements through the end of the reception where the guests circled around them and voiced words of wisdom and love.

Emma & Rei had the bridal party introduced with a personal back story as to why they chosen and a theme song played for each person. When it came time for Emma & Rei’s grand entrance, they chose a special mix of “Let’ Get Ready to Rumble!”

Just after they were introduced, the bride and groom had their first dance to Kenny Chesney’s, “You Had Me from Hello” where half-way through, their parents joined in the dance.

Just after diner, toasts were given and we moved on to cake cutting. Emma & Rei cut their cake to the tunes of “Swing Life Away” by Rise Against the machine and “Love Story” by Taylor Swift. We all got to see “stuffing of the faces” between the bride and groom!

For their dances Emma danced with her father to Heartland’s, “I Loved Her First” and unbeknownst to Rei’s mother, we created a special mix. It started off with Hotel California (which she is not fond of), then a simulated record scratch into Metallica’s “Battery”. A crowd pleaser where others joined in on the dance!

Open dancing began where all were involved until it was time for the bouquet and garter toss. For Emma, she chose the Weather Girls, “It’s Raining Men” and for Rei, he chose Kool & the Gang’s “Get Down On It” for the removal and Devildriver’s “Clouds over California” for the toss.

All had good fun dancing for the rest of the night until it was time for the bride & groom to leave in the limo. We took careful planning to use the last 15 minutes to circle all the guests around Emma & Rei where guests conveyed their love to them.

Emma & Rei were whisked off to the limo with the bridal party to enjoy the rest of the evening in Sacrament. I know Tony will have some great photos of the time they had.

Good times, good fun!

Next up, Health Net’s Open Air Photobooth event!

Shawn & Angie

September 25th was a beautiful day to have a wedding and we were happy to be part of Shawn & Angie's.

It took place at the beautiful Paradise Valley County Club in Fairfield, CA and they reserved our photo booth as part of the entertainment for their guests. A beautiful setting for 136 photos to be taken and added to the memory book for Sean & Angie.

For her layout, Angie chose a silver boarder with purple text. "Shawn & Angie, September 25th, 2010" for her header and for the footer, she chose the quote "Love endures all things, Love never ends".

The music was provided by DJ Lloyd, (Kenny Lloyd) who added so much more to the evenings entertainment and Jessica Riggle of Sweet Pea Photography was busy getting so many photos, we were happy to see she and her associate had time to stop by and take their photos in the booth.

Danielle & Stephen

More good times and fun at Danielle and Stephen’s wedding. Not only did they request our DJ services, they asked for our Open Air Photobooth!

They chose the beautiful venue of the Vizcaya Pavilion & Mansion in Sacramento. Danielle walked down the aisle to Miranda Wong’s “Romantic Wedding March” which was perfect for her.

Following a beautiful ceremony, Danielle had a dove release provided by Anna of Whitebird.com. For their recessional, Danielle and Stephen chose an excerpt of Taylor Swift’s “Love Story".

When it came time for the introductions, the bridal party entered to the famous tune of “Sirius” by The Alan Parsons Project (Chicago Bulls Fans know it well) and Danielle and Stephen had their Grand Entrance to Blur’s “Song 2”.

Lunch was served with two courses and it was a delicious meal. Toasts followed with sparkling cider in which we had a wonderful photographer, Randy Licht, of Borel Photography who had wonderful comedic commentary and timing throughout the day. If it wasn’t for him many a great teamwork moments would not have happened.

For our cake cutting, we had U2’s “Sweetest thing” and a few moments later, we had the most important moment of the day, Danielle & Stephen’s fist dance together as husband and wife. Danielle chose “Endless Love” by the Glee cast.

Following, Danielle danced with her father to “Butterfly Kisses” by Bob Carlisle and Stephen danced with mother to wonderful song by Sheila Walsh, “Find Your Wings”.

We began open dancing until it was time for the Bouquet and Garter toss. The ever popular “Single Ladies” by Beyonce was chosen for the Bouquet and the theme from “Mission Impossible” by Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen for the Garter. Although I played the music, Randy was masterful at setting up the action!

Then something unexpected happened. A request for Hava Nagila! I played the song but Randy being the masterful photographer, asked to play it again. OF COURSE! I played it aging, got more people on the dance floor, he got the bride and groom in chairs and got guests to hoist the bride and groom into the air spectacular afternoon of fun!

Good times, good fun and not to mention, fun captured moments by Randy and our Open Air Photobooth.

To view Danielle & Stephen’s photo booth gallery, go here. Also, go see Randy’s site. Let’s see if he caught them teaching everyone how to YMCA!

Family SOUP

This past Friday (the 25th), we were at the Family SOUP, "SOUP'er Summer Swim" with our photo booth. Family SOUP is a resource center dedicated to supporting, encouraging and providing information and facilitated referral to families with children with special needs.

We gave a gift certificate to SOUP for the free use of our booth to raffle off during their annual fundraiser, "Bistro in the Buttes" and the certificate was donated back to them.

We had a blast with bar-b-q, lemonade, swimming and making everyone's time special. We were especially pleased we could give everyone a fun photo to take home to remember the day.

Egling Middle School

Yesterday we returned to Egling Middle School in Colusa for the pre-vacation school dance. They get a whole week off of school starting with Presidents Day so we sent them out in style! And it was fun to keep ‘em dancing with the right combination of songs. I forgot how dark it gets in the gym otherwise I would have brought the Glow Sticks!! Next time for sure! Can’t wait to return.

Next week we return to Anna McKenney School with the photo booth. Awesome!

An Evening of Romance

Last night I had the honor of DJing for the Sacramento Healthy Marriage Project at the dinner/dancing event, “An Evening of Romance“. The event was held at the beautiful Vizcaya Pavillion & Mansion in Sacramento. It was Emceed by Cheewa James and Carolyn Curtis. I had the pleasure of meeting people and playing for an organization whose mission is toPromote the sustainable development of safe and stable families.”

After a wonderful dinner, Cheewa and her husband Harrison instructed the guests on how to Waltz and Electric Slide. After the instruction, we cleared the dance floor so Cheewa and Harrion could show the guests how to West Coast Swing, Night Club Two-Step, Salsa, Waltz, Cha-Cha, Rumba, and East Coast Swing.

We next opened the floor for dancing where I played many different types of songs all in line with the above styles of dance. Many of the songs played were requested by the guests and done through the Guests Requests area of our website.

It was a wonderful and one of my favorite events. I look forward to DJing for the SHMP again.

Carly & Jason's Wedding

It was another celebration and it awesome to have our Open Air Photobooth at Carly & Jason’s wedding to capture the fun. We were at the lovely Tsakopoulos Library Galleria in Sacramento. We couldn’t keep people away from the booth except for times when there was cake cutting and toasts to be made and the guests made great use of the props.Everyone went through so many, many times that we ran out pages in the memory book (except for the page that was snuck away for the bride and groom photo).

The enjoyment everyone had with the booth is an awesome sight to see. Go view Carly & Jason’s photos in the gallery. We enjoy them and we know you will too!

Congrats Carly & Jason!

Betsy & Jonathan

On January 9th, 2010, we had the honor of bringing in the New Year for a wonderful couple, Elizabeth Gross and Jonathan Van Tol, now Mr. and Ms. Jonathan Van Tol. Since last year in early September when I met Elizabeth and her mother, Angela, never have I met the most excited people ever for such and event to take place.

When the day arrived, it was standing room only at the reception venue. The room was packed with family and friends of the Elizabeth (Betsy) and Jonathan that the sheer volume of love for the both them could be felt.

It was also our pleasure to give Betsy and Jonathan our Open Air Photobooth for their wedding as they let us use their memory book at the Cal Expo Bridal Showcase the following day. I must say once the word spread about the booth, James who was running it, was swamped with helping people take photos, cut, glue, etc!

Angela had the reception planned to a “T” and it went perfectly. I think with everything she did, there should be a new category for a dance, “The Mother Who Accomplished It All for Her Daughter’s Wedding”.

After all the events and the floor was opened for dancing, it went perfect. The songs were played, everyone danced, and I have to thank everyone for their requests. I love taking requests cause is spurs those thoughts of other songs you forget about and makes people dance more.

We had a fantastic time. Stop by the gallery and check out the Betsy and Jonathan’s photos from the photo booth.

Cal Expo Bridal Showcase 2010

I want to thank everyone who stopped by Open Air Photobooth at the Cal Expo Bridal Showcase. It was a huge success

All the photos we took have been uploaded to the gallery and you can view them here. For every one who had their photo taken, don't forget to download your photo and share them with your friends, family or put them up on your Facebook or MySpace page. Print them out again! And for the brides who attended the show, many congratulations! This is your first of many smiles in front of the camera!

One of the aspects of the booth we love is seeing every ones instantaneous reaction of our guests faces to the photo that was just taken. Everyone standing around can can see the sheer joy and delight in their faces. In the near future, we hope to have the capability for on lookers to see the photos that were just taken by our guests.
